Another Round-Up – Service, Leadership, Marketing and More
The blog post round up that I published last week seems to have been well received and appreciated and since I’m still defining where I want to go with this site, I’ve been doing a lot of reading.
So, here are some blog posts that I’ve read recently and found to be interesting and that you may also find value in reading.
Service Rant: “Underpromise, Overdeliver.” – An excellent rant from Service Encounters Onstage by Chris Reaburn. He has a very good point about this over-used refrain and should be heeded. Let’s stop under-committing.
How To Handle Irate or Angry Customers, Would You Want This? – In a post from KateNasser.com by Kate Nasser, she describes some common phrases that are used in customer service training and she looks at them from the customer’s point of view.
Marketing alchemy – Great post from Reinventing marketing by Alan Mitchell where he looks at some of the original principles of marketing and how it needs to change. Since, I don’t have a marketing background, I found this very enlightening.
If you shed standard industry practices…what could you become? – In this blog post from Jeanne’s Blog: Customer Experience Snack by Jeanne Bliss, she takes one of the principles from her most recent book (“I Love You More Than My Dog”) and shows how it’s been applied and why you should too.
What the Hell are they Teaching in Business School? – Another rant but this one from Deliver Bliss by Tim Sanchez. He asks how new grads can send résumés when they know nothing about the company they’re sent to.
Managing Customers as Investments – from Arie Goldshlager’s posterous. Arie has put together a great set of resources on Customer Lifetime Value.
What I Learned About Networking When I Asked a Stranger for a Kidney – The last post this week is from C-Level Strategies & Awakenings by Lisa Petrilli. She tells a very personal story and demonstrates how overcoming a serious health issue also helped her grow. It’s a very thoughtful story and reminds us that we’re all human and need to share.
This is pretty diverse in terms of reading. If you have any suggestions for future subjects please don’t hesitate to comment.
Also, if you know of interesting blogs on customer service, leadership, marketing or SCRM, I’d love to hear your recommendations.
Have a great weekend!
Eric
